New app: The joy of perfect plants

Get the rights ones for your garden with this local app

Shopping takes all forms these days and we were intrigued to hear of a new phone app Joy of Plants being launched this month by a start-up business led by Terri Jones in Twyford, Berkshire.

They believe that for many busy people the secret to a fabulous garden in 2013 is an app to find exactly the right plants for your garden, for every season of the year.

The Joy of Plants app is a powerful but easy-to-use Plant Finder encyclopaedia currently containing over 7,500 plants this month it will grow over 8,500 plants. You can search for plants by all sorts of criteria, and maintain a list of favourites you want to buy, as well as a list of plants you already have in your garden. You can even post plants to Facebook & Twitter to share with your friends.

The plant information is written by expert Berkshire garden designer Susan A. Tindall who has over 20 years experience in garden design. Joy of Plants are members of the Horticultural Trades association and supply a web-based Plant Finder to garden centres for their websites and kiosks you can see it in action here at a Berkshire garden centre, www.thebigplantnursery.com
