Under 14 team receive brand new waterproof jackets for their annual Dutch Tour and the rest of the season.

Jonathan Cranley, sales and marketing director for the local developer, said:: “We are very pleased that we have had the opportunity to offer support to such a fantastic local team, especially in time for their annual Dutch Tour. We wish them every success for the season and look forward to seeing them show off their new red waterproof jackets with pride.”

U14 Team Manager of Twyford Comets and Club Secretary, Mark Nolan explained: “Every two years we take a team out to Holland, and during the in-between years we reciprocate and host our Dutch counterparts. We had a great trip and although our good friends have retained the cup this year, we’re already excited to take it back next year!”

The Dutch Trip, which took place from the 24 to 28 October, includes 16 team members plus parents and club members to supervise. The squad is overwhelming local, and 14 of the squad attend the Piggott School in Wargrave together. During the trip they all stay with host families and participate in daily activities, which on the last full day culminate in playing for the Dutch Cup.

Mark added: “It gave us great pleasure, especially on the Dutch trip, seeing the team turning up for games and training looking that much more professional and portraying the image of belonging to an exciting and progressive club. I would like to express my thanks to Millgate for their very generous sponsorship donation which all the players are very happy to be wearing.”

Founded in 1972, the Twyford Comets Football Club has provided a safe and friendly environment for junior football to the local community. They also cater for younger children with a Saturday morning soccer school which meets at King George V Recreation Ground, Twyford and provides a fun and excellent start to the game before moving into organised league football.
