The Michelin starred, three AA rosettes restaurant’s kitchen is led by head chef Tom Clarke who focuses on full flavour and modern techniques to create food that hits “all the high notes”. As well as a lunchtime menu du jour (£30 two courses) there are Gourmand menus for meateaters and vegetarians. Three stunning private dining rooms can accommodate eight to 22 guests.

This famous restaurant beside the Thames has been serving inspirational French cuisine since 1972. Founded by Michel Roux and now run by his chef-patron son Alain, it was judged ‘best for service’ in the Sunday Times top 100 restaurants 2015/16 and holds three Michelin stars. The Menu Exceptionnel tasting menu or the three-course Menu Gastronomique are ideal for a special lunch with friends. Desserts are a speciality – try the brandy snap tuile with lemon mousse, poached peach and sorbet.

Located around 200m away from Windsor Castle, A la Russe specialise in French and world cuisine. The a la carte menu features starters ranging from croquettes de crab et homard and tartare de saumon fumé et crevette. Mains include fillet steak prepared at your table and lapin dijonnaise.

Ideal for lunch when shopping or sightseeing, this modern all-day French brasserie serves regional specialities and traditional classics. Light mains include risotto vert, salmon and tuna niçoise. They also offer a set menu which may include sea bream, chicken paillard salad and pan roasted cod in French bacon.

The wood-fired oven gives the pizzas their authentic Italian taste. Sebastian’s is tucked away down in a little alley. The Head Chef is Tuscan and has more than 40 years experience, but the menu features dishes from all over Italy. Open lunchtime until late evening.

This artisan kitchen and ice creamery is a must-visit spot in Newbury serving sourdough pizzas such as the meat feast with pancetta, pepperoni and smoked ham. Be sure to leave room for dessert and try one of their 'Freakshakes'.

Ketty’s Taste of Cyprust is not just about excellent food, but also about taking your time to enjoy a meal in a friendly atmosphere. It was founded by Costas Germanos in 2002 to create a place where people could enjoy the best of Greek and Cypriot cuisine. As well as the starters and mains menu there are meat, fish and vegetarian mezes, ideal for groups. Traditional desserts include baklava or kateifi and Greek yoghurt with honey and flaked almonds.

A modern restaurant serves Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine with a buzzy atmosphere and Moroccan décor. Owners Abdul and Amina have more than 20 years experience managing restaurants in Windsor. Head chef Amina gained her love of cooking from her mother before starting her catering career at Le Stylia, one of Marrakech’s finest restaurants.

This waterfront family-run restaurant has lovely views and serves freshly prepared food with South African flair. Food is theatrically presented. Espetadas and sizzling skillets sit beside traditional fish and chips on the menu. If you fancy treating yourself, try the cote de boeuf 24oz prime rib steak.

Open Tuesday to Saturday, Tutu’s Ethiopian Table serves delicious Ethiopian food with plenty of vegan options as well as baguettes and other lunch dishes. Tutu Melaku cooks in traditional Ethiopian style. Try the sharing platters or visit on Thursday for their buffet night.

Fine Chinese cuisine combining dishes from Canton, Peking and Szechuan provinces served in elegant surroundings. Consistency is assured by manager Steve Chiu who has worked at the restaurant since it opened in 1983. The recommended banquet menu for 4 or more people includes, mixed hors d’oeuvres, aromatic duck, mixed seafood, fried chicken breast and special fried rice.

An award-winning (they’ve been voted a top 100 UK restaurant in the British Curry Awards) Indian restaurant serving traditional and contemporary dishes. It takes its name from Asia’s largest rose garden which is home to over 50,000 rose trees.

A small white-tablecloth restaurant serving gourmet, traditional tandoori and Indian cuisine. Malik’s is one of three restaurants owned by Malik Ahmed with the other two located in Marlow and Gerrards Cross. The restaurant has a number of accolades to its name, including the Best Curry Restaurant (south east of England) in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
