True Food Co-op celebrates first ever Co-operatives Fortnight

As part of Co-operatives Fortnight, (June 19 - July 3) True Food Co-op has commissioned a poster showing photographs of members and volunteers with quotes about why they are involved with the co-operative. The colourful display celebrates the members and volunteers who own and run True Food. Reasons for being involved range from it offers excellent value for money, organic & fair-trade products and involvement with local business. to if you want something doing properly, you cant beat doing it yourself.

Co-operatives Fortnight is a ground-breaking new initiative, with the timely theme There is an Alternative - organised by Co-operatives UK, the national trade association for all forms of co"‘operative enterprise.

Copies of the poster, which was funded with a grant from Co-operatives South East, will be on display at the True Food shop in Grove Road, Emmer Green and at the weekly markets in Downshire Square, Queens Road, Newtown and Earley. See www.truefood.coop for market times and location maps.

Co-operatives Fortnight is a major campaign to spread the message about the co"‘operative alternative, sponsored by The Co-operative Group, Midcounties Co"‘operative, The Southern Co-operative, Anglia, Lincolnshire, Chelmsford Star and Channel Islands Co-operative Societies, with a new dedicated website www.thereisanalternative.coop full of resources and ideas.
