Villiers Hotel, Buckingham celebrates 100 years of being in The Michelin Guide

Superb luncheon marks amazing achievement that began back in 1911

Villiers 4 Star Hotel in Buckingham celebrated 100 years of being in the famous Michelin Guide with a special centenary. The event marked Villiers privileged place as one of only 30 hotels in the UK to enjoy the honour of being in the first 1911 Guide to the British Isles and the current 2011 Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland.

Over 50 people attended the luncheon which began with canaps and champagne followed by a three course meal all dishes reflected classic favourite recipes from throughout the last century. Canapes included oysters a la Russe and Foie Gras Boudian; starters included Mullagatawny soup and Rognuns a la Dijonnaise (sauteed kidneys in Dijon mustard); and main courses featured roast pheasant and steak, kidney and oyster Suet Pudding.

Guests were also given a complimentary edition of the Michelin Guide.

The event featured classic cars displayed in Villiers cobbled courtyard and the launch of a 100 Michelin Balloon Race where the lucky winner will have dinner for two with wine in Villiers two rosette restaurant. The balloon that has travelled furthest so far has been discovered in Nottingham!

Being part of the Michelin Guide in this unique way is an achievement of which we are very proud and we have really enjoyed marking this with our celebration lunch.
