Hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions celebrate results
Staff at Coworth Park at Ascot are celebrating after the hotel took gold in the Large Hotel of the Year category, sponsored by Quality in Tourism, in the Beautiful South Awards 2013-2014.
The results were announced at a gala dinner at The Felbridge Hotel in West Sussex and there was much for Berkshire and Buckinghamshire to cheer during an evening co-hosted by Tourism South East Chairman Ken Robinson CBE and travel journalist and broadcaster Alison Rice.
As well as Coworth Park’s win in the prestigious category for large hotels, the Macdonald Windsor Hotel took the silver spot in the Business Tourism Award sponsored by Shopper Anonymous.
The gold spot for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year, sponsored by Flagship Consulting, went to Chiltern Open Air Museum, with Go Ape Black Park highly commended.
More gold came with the Sustainable Tourism Award sponsored by Shepherd Neame, going to Oakley Court Hotel, with Mapledurham Estate, Reading, in the silver position.
And in the Bed and Breakfast, Guest Accommodation of the Year category, sponsored by Barclaycard, the Five Arrows Hotel at Waddesdon was highly commended.
The awards have run for more than 20 years and celebrate the best of all types of businesses serving the South East’s tourism market.
