The ‘Crossrail Effect’ is continuing in Maidenhead, where almost half of the apartments in Heathland Court are already reserved or sold as a new show apartment opens.

The one to three-bedroom apartments, ranging from £275,000 to £410,000, are in the Shanly Homes flagship development, Boulters Meadow.

Maidenhead has long been a popular town for those wishing to make a home by the Thames, and is enjoying something of a mini-renaissance right now as developments both in the town centre and surrounding areas bring new sparkle. These include Boulters Meadow, where derelict land has been put to good use creating 448 contemporary homes, from spacious townhouses to the apartments.

It’s just a mile from Maidenhead station with direct services to London in as little as half an hour. The big plus, of course, is Crossrail, set to be in operation from 2019 and provide a direct rail link from Reading and Heathrow across central London to Canary Wharf, and on to Essex stations. Not surprisingly, a lot of Londoners are looking west to our pretty towns and countryside. The Christmas and New Year break saw the demolition and replacement of four bridges in west London and Slough and piling work between Hillingdon and Maidenhead ahead of the installation of overhead electric wires for Crossrail.

The new show apartment at Heathland Court has been designed by Show Business Interiors and features a palette of white and grey complemented by striking accents of teal. Integrated appliances in the kitchen include a fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and a five-ring ceramic hob while bathrooms are equipped with sleek white Ideal Standard sanitary ware. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room while there is also a second bathroom. Both of the generously sized bedrooms benefit from fitted wardrobes.

For more information or to book an appointment to view the show home, which is open daily from 10am to 5pm, call the Boulters Meadow marketing suite on 01628 780299 or selling agent Roger Platt on 01628 773333, see www.shanlyhomes.com.
