Romans embraces Sunningdale’s community spirit

Local estate and letting agent, Romans, opened its new Sunningdale branch in January, but the team focused on engaging with the local community long before that.

Antony Gibson, Residential Sales Director at Romans, says of the launch of their 19th branch: “Although we have over 25 years’ experience in working across Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey we didn’t assume Sunningdale’s residents had heard of Romans before. We wanted to find a unique way to integrate with the local community and give them something back, rather than just being another agency.

“We launched the Sunningdale Showcase as a fantastic opportunity for local residents to share their favourite photo of the village they live and work in; after all they know it best! We were astonished by the volume of entries and the high quality of the photos; many of them featured local landmarks such as the Holy Trinity Church as well as beautiful landscapes and stunning sunsets.”

With the help of Mayor Andrew Jenner, journalist Rhodri Andrews, professional photographer Jon Bradley and the thousands of online they chose three brilliant photos that truly represent Sunningdale. You can see them at

Anthony says: “We’ve also been giving away complimentary hot drinks as part of our aim to warm up Sunningdale’s Wednesdays. Many local residents and commuters have commented on what a lovely surprise it is on a cold morning, available from Asante Coffee at Sunningdale train station and the coffee shop at Ascot train station.”

Romans is also supporting Sunningdale’s Bowling Club and Sunningdale Ladies Golf Club throughout 2014.
