Top contract for Wycombe company
A family firm in High Wycombe has secured a 2.2m contract within a 44m scheme to create an extensive sustainability building project in Devon.
Hazlemere Commercial will be designing, manufacturing and installing100 per cent recycled aluminium doors, windows and curtain walling at the new Bideford College campus, which is due for completion in September 2009.
Aluminium, explained Simon Keegan, Hazlemere's commercial sales director, is infinitely recyclable, and around 60 per cent of the world's primary aluminium is smelted using power generated from hydro-electric plants. "This in turn is a natural and renewable energy source, and does not produce harmful emissions."
The new buildings at the college have been designed as a model for sustainability in construction and environmental management, under the government's Building Schools for the Future Programme.
