Newbury's sporty and sassy newcomer
There’s lots to catch the eye in Newbury these days and motoring fans are being lured to the London Road showrooms of Mercedes-Benz to see the new and very svelte C-Class AMG Sport Edition.
“The C-Class has always been a sporty, luxurious car that represents fantastic value and the new AMG Sport Edition epitomises this,” said Anthony Williamson, Dealer Principal there.
“Blending diesel economy with strong performance and striking looks with immense practicality, the competitively-priced AMG Sport Edition has an incredible amount to offer and we can’t wait to introduce local drivers to it and help them start their new year in style and in pocket.”
This is definitely one to book a test drive for. The new model replaces the AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus models in the best-selling C-Class range. It’s based on the punchy yet efficient C 220 CDI and C 250 CDI engines and certainly offers ‘sport for all’ too, the stylish trim line being available in Saloon, Estate and Coupé body styles.
So expect excellent handling to match the bodystyling, lowered suspension and wide alloy wheels. There’s also something of a tribute to a sassy era we’ve never really wanted to move on from with the fitment of an AMG bootlid spoiler (Saloon and Coupé), dark-tinted headlamps and high-gloss black grille.
The interior cleverly combines a bit of swagger with cool styling, courtesy of seats upholstered in black Artico and Dinamica. The Saloon now also includes the split folding rear seat already standard on the Estate and Coupé. Dark brushed aluminium trim and the use of grey contrast stitching add to the interior’s sporty feel.
The C-Class AMG Sport Edition costs from £30,170 on-the-road. See www.sytner.co.uk/mercedes-benz/newbury, tel 01635 524444.
