There are plenty of ways to have a flippin' good time
The Launchpad Pancake Race
The annual Launchpad Pancake Race is a super-fun event that has seen local businesses flip pancakes down Broad Street every Shrove Tuesday for over 20 years. Egged on by cheering crowds, teams raise money for Launchpad by relay-racing in fancy dress - and the winner gets the coveted frying pan trophy! This year's race takes place on 25 February on Broad Street, Reading.
If you're a business local to Reading, get your colleagues together and enter a team of four. Don't forget to plan your fancy-dress outfits too! Not only will you raise money for Launchpad but you will also have a chance to win the coveted frying pan trophy - and other fantastic prizes.
Your team registers at Broad Street Mall before joining the Pancake Race parade to the start line on Broad Street. You will then take part in a series of knock-out heats, tossing pancakes along the way. The winning team are the first over the finish line, without dropping their pancakes.
To enter, complete an application form, along with a payment of £50 made payable to Launchpad Reading. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and one team per company is permitted... Have an eggcellent time. launchpadreading.org.uk
