Discover your great September day out or evening treat

Dream cars on display

The big day out for motoring fans takes place at Blenheim Palace when Salon Privé brings together supercars, style and elegance for three days. It all starts on Thursday, 1 September with the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance when a world-leading display of cars will be judged across 10 classes. The Friday hosts Boodles Ladies Day when glamour leads the way, and on the Saturday sees some 80 cars on display and awards ceremonies taking place.

You might like to take a test drive or two – among those offering this treat are Ferrari, Lexus, Morgan and Tesla. Combine this perhaps with great hospitality offers for individuals and groups.

Deadpan master

He comes across as grouchy, indignant and acerbic, but British audiences have a soft spot for American comedian Rich Hall who appears at Wycombe Swan on Saturday, 24 September.

The annual Chilli Festival at Waddesdon Manor provides a great day out. This year it’s held on 3 and 4 September. With some 50 expert exhibitors, food to enjoy, live music and children’s entertainment you can’t go wrong. Entry to the festival is free once you’ve paid ground admission (adult £10, child: £5, family: £25), see waddesdon.org.uk, 01296 653226.
