Feel good show ‘Happy Days - A New Musical’ is at MK Theatre from 16 to 21 June

The musical guaranteed to have you rockin’ and rollin’ is based on the hit TV series features the unforgettable ‘King of Cool’ Arthur ‘The Fonz’ Fonzarelli. Join your favourite ‘50’s family, the Cunninghams and the rest of the gang – Potsie, Ralph Malph, Joanie and Chachi as they battle to save their beloved diner Arnold’s from demolition. In a race against time, can everyone’s favourite hero ‘The Fonz’ save the day?

Henry Winkler, the original Fonz, will serve as Creative Consultant, working alongside the director in creating the Happy Days world of 1959 America and guiding the cast in creating their characters.

West End leading man and Emmerdale star, Ben Freeman, takes on the iconic role of The Fonz, alongside Cheryl Baker as Mrs Cunningham and Heidi Range as Pinky Tuscadero.

The show is written by Garry Marshall, legendary creator of the television series and includes 21 original songs by Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe award-winning Hall of Fame Songwriter, Paul Williams, as well as the much-loved theme tune from the TV show. The choreography is by Olivier Award nominee Andrew Wright.

There’s an interesting story of success here as the musical is brought to Milton Keynes by Amy Anzel for Sunday Monday Ltd in association with Todd Ruppert of RTR International.

Anzel, one of the stars of Channel 4’s The Sound Of Musicals, which followed her journey as a first time producer, announced that the show raised its target funding of £250,000 from 345 investors in just 6 weeks through the UK’s most active equity crowd funding platform Seedrs. This was a world first for equity crowd funding – the first time a major theatre production has raised money by opening up investment to anyone and offering a participation in the profits of the show.

Happy Days - A New Musical is presented in partnership with Ed’s Easy Diner, the chain of retro-American diners that captures the spirit of the classic US original.
