Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead Theatre Company (SWMTC) to perform new version at Windsor's Theatre Royal.

SWMTC are very excited to be staging the iconic Rice and Lloyd Webber musical inspired by the political and personal struggles between Judas and Jesus, during the last week of Jesus’ life.

Originally written as a rock opera album, Jesus Christ Superstar opened on Broadway in 1971, transferring to the West End the next year where it ran for eight years and went on to become one of the greatest and most enduring musicals of its time.

Featuring numerous memorable tunes in different styles, from the upbeat ‘Everything’s Alright’ and ‘Hosanna’, Mary Magdalene’s soulful love song ‘I Don’t Know How To Love Him’, the comedy number ‘King Herod’s Song’ to the renowned title song’ Superstar’ this emotional and stirring musical continues to move audiences 40 years on.

SWMTC’s previous successes include The Witches Of Eastwick, Titanic The Musical, Hair and The Producers.

Book tickets for performances from 8 to 12 April at www.theatreroyalwindsor.co.uk.
