Author and campaigner to open Queen Anne’s School charity event on 1 July

Queen Anne’s School, a mixed boarding and day school for 11-18 year olds at Caversham, will be holding a fashion show in the school grounds, in aid of the Katie Piper Foundation at 7pm on Tuesday 1 July.

Katie Piper will open the show and it will be compered by former pupil and Storm model, Maddison Brudenell. Girls in the Lower Sixth from the school, along with Lower Sixth boys from Reading School will model clothes from a variety of shops in Henley, Caversham and Reading. The evening will feature entertainment by Queen Anne’s pupils in the form of music from Saxoholics and dancing from the Twilight dance company.

Katie Piper is a best-selling author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner who rebuilt her life after a brutal attack in 2008 left her badly scarred. After months of treatment, and with support from her family and friends, Katie set up her own charity to promote the notion that scars do not limit what a person can achieve with their life.

The Fashion Show will be held at the school site in Caversham and tickets can be purchased online at www.qas.org.uk/fashionshow or by calling 0118 918 7300. Adult tickets cost £15, under 18s £10 and a family ticket for 2 adults and two children, costs £35. The entrance cost includes a complimentary drink, canapés and a goody bag containing toiletries, make up and magazines.
