Renowned chef brings a gastronomic winner to the June meeting

High-society caterers “rhubarb” have teamed up with two Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc OBE to create exclusive and gastronomic hospitality packages at Royal Ascot.

These luxurious packages – which can be enjoyed by race-goers in a private box overlooking the course – are inspired by the kitchens and gardens of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.

The menus feature Raymond’s much-loved signature dishes, and include a selection of beautiful canapés, a three-course lunch, carefully selected wines, and an afternoon tea service. The meals will be served by “rhubarb” throughout the five days of Royal Ascot, from Tuesday, 17 June to Saturday, 21 June. Each box will have a dedicated chef, waiter and hostess or butler.

•Canapés include tuna with soy lime jelly, beef tartare with smoked mayonnaise, as well as goat curd on oat biscuit with a honey and black olive crumb.

•Lunch dishes include Cornish crab salad with grapefruit and celery, roast rack of lamb with potato gratin and minted peas, and exotic fruit raviole with a coconut lime leaf jus.

After lunch, guests will enjoy an extended cocktail hour and all the action of the races from the premium viewing platform, followed later by the Raymond Blanc afternoon tea, which includes delicate finger sandwiches such as smoked salmon with cucumber and dill on toasted rye bread, rare roast beef with celeriac remoulade, and brie with apricot and Jura chutney. There will be mini scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, and an assortment of delightful patisseries and macaroons.
