Guests at Oakley Court Hotel in Windsor were treated to a unique performance by the 1st Battalion Irish Guards Corps of Drums (including a solo by a Piper from the Irish Guards Pipe Band) at the third Heaven Sent Ball in aid of the Alexander Devine Children's Cancer Trust.
Another highlight of the evening was a charity auction run by Thomas Plant of BBC Flog it and Bargain Hunt. Among the many prizes was a dinner for six at the chef's table at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant, tickets to the West End musical Oliver! and two weeks accommodation in a luxury ski lodge in Bulgaria.
The evening raised £20,000, making the grand total raised so far to over £500,000 towards the first children's hospice for Berkshire.
