They certainly know how to celebrate St George’s Day at Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Denham, with some 200 players turning up for an event in aid of Help for Heroes.

The annual event saw those taking part also enjoying a traditional meal of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, and then bidding in a charity auction of fantastic lots including a Real Madrid Shirt signed by Gareth Bale and a set of boxing gloves signed by George Groves.

But before that the golfers could enjoy a round at the 18-hole John Jacobs designed course, set in 226 acres of magnificent English parkland, and with a clubhouse based in an 18th century listed mansion.

While the St George’s Day event attracted golfers of all abilities, the club has also been the setting for notable tournaments such as the European and Senior Team Events, including the Andersen Consulting Worlds Matchplay, won by Colin Montgomerie, and the European Seniors Tournament of Champions.

From 3 to 6 July Buckinghamshire Golf Club will showcase the ISPS Handa Ladies European Masters championship for the third year. The club is headquarters of the Ladies European Tour and this event attracts a world class entry. Money raised will help blind and disabled golfing projects across the world. Great hospitality packages are available so it’s possible to watch top quality golf while helping a very worthwhile charity.

The club is also popular for corporate events, whether that’s business done during the golf, or meetings in the clubhouse which has top class conference facility packages and various catering options.
