Dick Lovett BMW and MINI, who have a Hungerford dealership, have paired up with three athletes, supporting their efforts to qualify for Team GB and ParalympicsGB and compete at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The three lucky athletes, Katie Dawkins and Anya Tarasiuk, both synchronised swimmers and Georgie Twigg, hockey player, all live locally to Dick Lovett.

As well as continuous fundraising and raising awareness of their quest, Dick Lovett has given each of the three local athletes a brand new car, which they can use up until the end of the London 2012 Games. The family-owned dealer group has provided the three athletes with a BMW 1 Series Convertible, MINI Countryman and MINI Cooper D Convertible, along with Dick Lovett BMW/MINI sponsored clothing.

Georgie, who trains at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in Marlow and has been playing hockey since she was four, was awarded England Hockey Young Player of the Year 2010. She won bronze medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, World Cup and Champions Trophy.

Georgie said: It's tough trying to qualify for an Olympic place and it's a huge help knowing that they are behind us, helping to raise funds and awareness. It's also fantastic having a new car from now until the end of the 2012 Games. There's a lot of travelling to heats, competitions and promotional events, so it's great being able to arrive there in style.

Katie Dawkins said: This is just so great. We can't thank Dick Lovett enough. We spend a lot of time driving to and from training sessions and driving to events ahead of London 2012 so having new cars is amazing. Suddenly, we're the envy of all our friends!

Katie and Anya train at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre and have been synchronised swimming together since 2009. They have already won two bronze medals at the 2011 European Champions Cup.

MINI is proud to be an official partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB, and Dick Lovett is delighted to be able to help support three great local athletes on their way to success at the London 2012 games.
