Childline founder and president Esther Rantzen talked about her life and work at an NSPCC event to mark the 25th anniversary of Childline. A luncheon was held in Lower Basildon, Berkshire, at the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Hughes.

Childline founder and president Esther Rantzen talked about her life and work at an NSPCC event to mark the 25th anniversary of Childline. A luncheon was held in Lower Basildon, Berkshire, at the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Hughes.

Ms Rantzen also signed copies of her book, Running Out Of Tears, proceeds from which go to the charity. She told how Childline was the first helpline for children, now copied in 150 other countries. The meeting raised at least 3,000 for the NSPCC.
