A Spectacular Cast in a Stunning Setting
TV presenter and former England football star Gary Lineker is the latest addition to the star-studded line-upfor the fourth Henley Literary Festival.
There are more than 100 eventsin the programme rangingfrom leading literary figures to workshops, a children's festival, free events and a new innovation this year of a Girls' Day Out at Phyllis Court.
Other big names include the Duchess of Devonshire, Alexei Sayle and Penelope Lively.
Twelve different venues are being used from the regulars of the Kenton Theatre, the Town Hall and River and RowingMuseum to newcomers like St Mary's Church, where Melvyn Bragg will appear, and Henley Cricket Club's new pavillion, where columnist and presenterSimon Hughes will talk.
The ever-popular River Readings return and one novelty this year will be the first guest appearance by a dog - best-selling vet Bruce Fogle (father of Ben) is bringing along his golden retriever Bean when he talks about his new book on dogs. Returningwritersinclude Andrew O'Hagan, Gervase Phinn and local authors Simon Kernick and Lucy Cavendish.
For would-be writers there are a series of workshops and even advice on how to deal with the taxman as a writer.
