Hes also something of a modest chap as he insisted that these days hes only remembered for a couple of things being attacked by Rod Hulls Emu puppet, and a bizarre interview with Meg Ryan, where the actress gave virtually one word answers and didnt seem to want to be there at all.

However, he did manage to reveal some behind the scenes thoughts on interviewing some of the worlds best known figures, from Henry Kissinger to Elton John. He found John Wayne to be a strange man and Charlton Heston somewhat dour. But many of his interviews sparkled with fun, as did his speech.

The event raised around 1,000 towards Swan Lifelines funds, which will help the charity to deal with winter call-outs.
