It will all be about big, bold, and bright coloured hair at Rewind in Reading on Friday, 24 February. The club on Friar Street is talking part in Febru-hairy to raise funds for Sue Ryder alongside Friday night hosts Cocoloco.
Staff will be donning wigs and beards to collect for the charity and there will be a dressing-up box and stick on moustaches available for donations. This is the second year running that Rewind have got involved in the campaign.
Febru-hairy is a Sue Ryders light-hearted take on the month of February. Local people are encouraged to get involved with fundraising in any hairy way they can. Over the two years it has been running there has been everything from crazy hair days in schools and offices to a hairy fashion show!
Carys Jones, Rewind Manager, said: The Rewind cast couldn't be prouder to be involved in Febru-hairy for the second year! We look forward to seeing Reading getting involved with the fantastic fancy dress photo booth and it gives us a great excuse to dress up ourselves! Everyone at the Sue Ryder does an amazing job and I am sure it will pay off this year. They certainly know how to put the fun into fundraising.
Fleur Rollet-Manus, events manager for Cocoloco, said: Cocoloco are an outside events company that have been taking over Friday nights at Rewind for just over a year now. This is the first time we are assisting in hosting a charity event and ourselves and the team couldnt be more excited. It is great we can give something back to the community that comes and party with us each and every Friday.
Vicky Smith, Community Fundraiser for Sue Ryder, said Febru-hairy is a really fun way for people to get involved in raising much need money for Sue Ryder. Its great to have Rewind is taking part as it shows it is possible to raise money whilst having a great time.
All money raised during Febru-Hairy 2012 will help Sue Ryder Bucks, Berks and Oxon to continue providing compassionate support to help people live through the challenges of long-term and life-threatening illnesses such as MS and Cancer. The fundraising team need to raise 1.5 million in voluntary income each year to provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care to people in Bucks, Berks and Oxon.
