Calling all ladies - Its time to get those trainers dusted off and start limbering up for the 2011 Florence Nightingale Hospice Charitys (FNHC) Gemstone Midnight Walk taking place on Saturday July 16th, in Aylesbury, supported by the Bucks Herald and local radio station Mix 96.2 FM.

Last years event, which saw 500 ladies of all ages, pounding the streets at Midnight, raised over 60k for the Charity, which provides comprehensive care and support through in-patient and at-home services for local families affected by life-limiting illness across Bucks, Beds and parts of Oxfordshire, and it is hoped that this years event will be even bigger and better - with the Charity looking to sign-up over 750 walkers to break last years record!

Health and Fitness Expert Rosemary Conley CBE is also lending her support to the event, along with members from Aylesburys Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Club (RCDFC): I am delighted that local Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Club franchisee Joanna Beardsmore-Dilks, and many of her members are once again taking part in the Florence Nightingale Gemstone Midnight Walk, she said. Not only is the event raising valuable funds for the Hospice, it is helping participants to keep fit and active too. I hope a large number of ladies enter the event in order to break last years record of 500 and exceed the amount of money raised for this very worthwhile charity.

Whether you want to take part in the Gemstone Midnight Walk in memory of a loved one, are a keen walker and want to do something for a worthy local cause, or fancy doing something a little different on a Saturday night, we promise we have the event for you!, claims Lindsey Fealey, Head of Fundraising at FNHC.

We raised a fantastic amount last year - with the local community and local businesses really showing their enthusiasm and support by getting behind its local Hospice. With your continued support this year, we hope to raise vital funds to help keep our Hospice and its services running to support families affected by life-limiting illness, she added.

Back for a second year - the Gemstone Midnight Walk is a six or 12-mile walking event around Aylesbury, starting from Aylesbury College, suitable for participants aged 11 (when accompanied by an adult) and up, with a fun pre-walk build-up provided by RCDFC franchisee and supporter of the Charity, Joanna Beardsmore-Dilks: My members and I are so excited to be getting involved with Florence Nightingales Gemstone Midnight Walk once again this year, it is a charity close to many of our hearts. The walk is a great way to contribute to our local community and commit to extra fitness activities too: we enjoy training together and of course the atmosphere on the night is electric!"
