Hearing Dogs Celebrates 2010 Anniversary with a Leap of Faith!

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a registered charity that trains dogs to respond to specific sounds...

Lady (Beatrice) Wright, the co-founder of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People would have celebrated her 100th birthday this year and to celebrate the centenary of her birth and her life, Faith Clark, her daughter and Chairman of Trustees of the charity will be completing a tandem parachute jump along with three other charity staff in Marlow on August 22nd 2010.

Faith is excited, if rather nervous, about the jump and hopes that it will raise awareness and funds for the charity as she explains:

My mother co-founded Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in 1982 and over the past three decades the charity has continued to flourish and grow. Since the charity started, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has trained over 1,500 dogs to alert deaf people to specific sounds, whether in the home, workplace or public buildings offering them greater independence, confidence and security.

I am very proud of the charity that my mother helped to establish and its essential that we continue the good work she started. The tandem jump is intended to raise awareness of the charity and, as the charity is entirely dependent on donations, were hoping to raise some valuable funds too. Were also looking for other brave souls to take part to help us make the event even more successful!

If you would like to support Faiths Leap of Faith please visit her sponsorship page at www.justgiving.com/faith-clark or to take part in the jump, please contact Hannah Phillips on 01844 348 113 or email Hannah.Phillips@HearingDogs.org.uk.
