Aylesbury's mayor takes up British Heart Foundation Challenge
The Town Mayor of Aylesbury, Councillor Ranjula Takodra officially launched the Friars Square Shopping Centre Great British Bag-athon event on by being the first person to take up the challenge and donate a bag of unwanted items to theBritish Heart Foundation (BHF) Shops new campaign.
The Great British Bag-athon at Friars Square is asking the community to pull together and challenging them to raise as many bags of lovely things as possible, which will go on to be sold in local BHF Shops helping the fight against heart disease.
Bags of lovely clothing, toys, accessories, shoes, CDs, DVDs, books, toys etc can be taken back to the drop off point in the shopping centre until Sunday, 30 September, or given to the local BHF Shop on after that date.
Gill Perrottet, Marketing Manager at Friars Square said: Its wonderful to see people in the local community getting involved in the campaign. Whether groups are getting together to donate 5, 10, or 20 bags, or individuals are donating just one bag, its all extremely gratefully received and will help the BHF to continue its lifesaving.
