They may only be 11 millimetres long, but these little snails caused quite a stir when they were discovered for the first time in Britain at Cliveden this summer. Officially known as Papillifera papillaris, the little creatures have been living undisturbed in a balustrade brought from Italy over a century ago. The amazing find was made by the volunteer statue cleaning team.
