Sophie Christiansen, the Paralympic Equestrian Triple Gold medallist, will be guest of honour at Berkshire’s Inspiration and Participation Awards, organised by Get Berkshire Active to celebrate extraordinary sporting achievements.

The awards are a great chance to showcase sporting heroes, giving them a chance to be recognised by their county for their talent and dedication to grass roots Sport in Berkshire.

Sophie said: “I am honoured to be attending the Berkshire Inspiration & Participation Awards; it’s a real privilege to be part of something that rewards those who dedicate their time to getting others active. I’m also looking forward to sharing my own unique sporting story with all the guests and nominees.”

Sophie herself was an award winner last year, receiving the Sports Personality Award, and will be presenting the award to this year’s winner. Get Berkshire Active are calling out to everyone in the sporting community who has nominated a candidate or would like to congratulate their achievements to come and celebrate with then on 7 February at the Blue Mountain Golf Club, Binfield.

Tickets are now on sale, they can be purchased at www.getberkshireactive.org by clicking on the BIPAwards button.

The awards will recognise the contribution local people have made to inspiring others to take up physical activity, as well as individual and team excellence in sport.
