*VIDEO* Eden Shopping Centre marriage proposal

PUBLISHED: 12:28 17 November 2014 | UPDATED: 12:28 17 November 2014

Eden, High Wycombe was the venue for a very special shopping trip this week, as a man popped the question to his girlfriend accompanied by ballroom dancers in a Strictly Come Dancing inspired proposal!

The man’s overwhelmed girlfriend was taken by surprise as a group of dancers from local dance school Come Dancing with Me began dancing to the couple’s special song ‘Everything’ by Life House. Her boyfriend proposed and the dancers held up signs spelling out ‘Shelley will you marry me?’.

There was relief and smiles all round when the lucky lady (of course) said yes!

Craig Plested (35) and Shelley Horseman (32) have a special connection with Eden Shopping Centre as they met at a party at the centre’s Nandos restaurant and shared their first date at House of Fraser’s Café Zest. To celebrate their two year anniversary, Craig decided to plan a memorable proposal – and got in touch with the team at Eden to help him make it extra special.

Craig said “we’re both so excited – and I think Shelley will get over the surprise eventually!” adding that the experience was something that he and his new fiancée would never forget.

Niamh Crowley, Marketing Manager at Eden Shopping Centre said, “We were so delighted when Craig got in touch and asked Eden to help him plan the perfect wedding proposal. It’s not often that we can be part of something so sweet and romantic so we were thrilled to help this lovely couple on their special day.

It’s not the first time that Eden has been part of a life changing event – in 2012 local mum Kim Leighton gave birth to her daughter Leanne Eden at the shopping centre. Niamh added “We’ve got two out of three now – all we need to complete the set is an Eden wedding!”.
